Founded in 1991 as a cargo ship owner and operator, WIND combines decades of experience in the shipping industry with specialist hands-on expertise of subsea cable handling.

Today WIND occupies a unique market position. The company draws on an extensive shipping network, large pool of cable handling equipment and dedicated cable crews to deliver tailor-made services to a worldwide client base of subsea cable manufacturers, subsea cable-installation companies, EPIC contractors and utility companies.

With decades of experience, they take care of your entire cable transfer operation, including load-out documentation, risk assessments and method statements. What’s more, they have the flexibility to mobilise at short notice.

WIND Cable Recovery – Sustainable & Innovative

Recovery of out-of-service cables from the seabed is a key part of WIND’s business, one that currently focuses on the recovery of subsea communications cables. These activities yield major environmental benefits as recycling defunct cables re-introduces a huge amount of high quality metals and plastics back into the global supply chain.

WIND knows the importance of cable storage in the overall success of the project. Therefor the extensive experience is used to fine-tune their cable and accessories storage services to precisely match the needs of clients.

For both the offshore wind and subsea communications cables markets, a favorable storage location is key to fast and efficient services. WIND’s storage facilities in Amsterdam, Eemshaven and Velsen (All in the Netherlands) are in the prime location to serve North Sea offshore wind farms. Other storage depots within WIND’s network are located in Tenerif, Taiwan and Korea.
